PROCESS & VALIDATION At the beginning of each school year the Church and School links application form is sent to both the Incumbent and the Headteacher 1. The Incumbent, Headteacher and PCC should agree that the school and church apply for this award. It will also be available on the education website – www.dioscesofliverpool-education.org (i) PCC should discuss and look to consider applying for the award. (ii) Governing Body agreement is required. 2. A Foundation Governor is nominated to act as link person who will co- ordinate the process with the PCC/ Church and the school engaging others to assist. i.e. staff member of school, parent, PCC member/church warden , reader, children. 3. The application is completed and sent to Education Department. 4. A letter from Bishop James encouraging the Church and school is sent. 5. When the group have completed the form and all the evidence is in place and with the agreement of the Incumbent and Headteacher, a request is made to the Education Department for a Diocesan Adviser to visit the Church/School at a mutually agreeable time. There is no time limit for submission but ideally within the school year. § Evidence to be required in support of each pro forma answers (photographs, magazine articles, children’s work, etc). Ideas are contained in the appendix. § Advice available when necessary, through Diocesan Family of Schools Service Agreement 6. If the Adviser considers that the church and school have fulfilled the criteria, a recommendation is made to the Board of Education. 7.
